A shop designed with a nostalgic nod to the past and a sunny step into the future.
Midge was born from a love of style, fashion, history & inspiration. Everyone has a story and background that contributes to who they become, for me that started at a young age with my big sister. We always loved playing dress up and adored our mother's vintage Barbies. Blessed to grow up surrounded by an influential mix of women, my southern roots range from Aunt Ruth's cotillion gowns & legendary closet to Aunt Shirley the ultimate girly girl. My Grandmothers were strong inspirational women; Ada the Valedictorian and Tempie the hardworking, soft spoken matriarch of the family farm. And of course my mother, the social butterfly and dead ringer for Ali McGraw.
Glamour, Grit & Grace are the soul of Midge. In the 1960's, Barbie always had her fashion consultant & best friend Midge... and now so do you.
Midge Owner, Margaret Lightsey graduated from Ole Miss with a degree in History and minor in Geology, unofficially she majored in Game-Day Dresses and Sorority Rush Must-Haves. A collector of etiquette books, handkerchiefs & vinyl records; she finds inspiration from modern manners, Harper's Bizarre & Blair Waldorf.
She has three rescue cats named Fitz, Bernadette, and Pip. Animal charities are close to her heart and an annual donation of sales will benefit local animals in need.
